Video Tour of the Bus so far

Today we have been decontaminating the whole bottom floor of the bus. I bleached and scrubbed all the cupboard doors and fluorescent light covers and Noah scrubbed everything else. I managed to fit in a quick run to Home Depot while Finn was napping for the stain we’re going to use and a pull-down ladder.

Before all that, however, I went ahead and shot a video tour of the bus so you all can see where we are progress-wise.

Advance warning: my videography skills are truly terrible. There also may or may not be a baby crying in the background during multiple parts, ridiculous amounts of “um”ing, mysterious breathlessness and my reflection in a mirror. This wasn’t even my first run-through, this was like attempt number three or something.

I cannot guarantee that you will not get seasick and for that I apologize profusely.

Here is the first floor:

  1. So……….now I’m not so worried about the “BUS”. Looks like there is plenty of room. Love that the kids will have a tub!!

  2. Looks like a daunting amount of work. I especially like the flowered wall paper and the stencil over the tub! But once you get it all together, it should be a very comfortable place to stay while you build.

  3. I’m all caught up! I’m following your website in Feedly now so I’ll never miss a post. Loved the video tours, can’t wait to see what you do with the place!

  4. Your bus is really a nice set up. We had some friends who lived in a smaller trailer (2 adults and 2 teenagers) for about 3 years while they built their house and had to use an outhouse, so your family definitely has the hook up. They learned some great lessons through their house-building experience and I know your family will benefit from this endeavor too. I’ll have to track down those TV episodes I told you about where other families built their own houses and send you the links so you can be encouraged and stuff. Blessings friend. =)

  5. How wonderful! My coworker and her husband built their home and bought a used camper to live in, on the property during the build. Her two children were 2 and 4 at the time so this is so reminiscent of their 7 month adventure. She has very very fond memories (and some not so good ones!) of that time together. I am sure you will also! Thanks for sharing with all of us.
